This limited edition CD eco-wallet pressing of the iconic saxophone player is available now. Giuseppi Logan was a contemporary of Albert Ayler, John Coltrane and Pharaoh Sanders. An accomplished sax player, as well as clarinet, flute and piano player, Giuseppi became known for his free form compositional genius. Having studied at the New England Conservatory, in the sixties Logan was hailed as one of the bright lights of free jazz. In the seventies, Logan disappeared from view and remained lost to the music world for over 30 years. Around 2009 Logan was found playing for change in Tompkins Square Park and at the age of (now) seventy six after many hard years of living, still has a tremendous talent to cultivate. A New Yorker turned Nashville songwriter and producer, Ed Pettersen gathered Giuseppi, Cooper Moore and Larry Roland in Manhattan for a full day of recording in Oct 2011. The result is forty five minutes of tasteful improv playing featuring three new original compositions and Giuseppi’s unique twist on three classic jazz tunes.
