Lyrics
7 - Homeless person
I know what it’s like
To literally fight and scrape
For my meals out here in the streets
These people, these children
They understand me
But now I’m lower on the food chain
With plenty of company
I had a family once, a wife, a home
Where they are now I don’t know
I served my country
Two tours of duty
But where did it get me?
I have brothers and sisters out here
hungry just like me
While I’d love a job, some shelter
I just want to look beyond today, tomorrow
And sleep at peace at night
Do you know what it’s like?
To have one eye open every night?
Sometimes I curse the light
